A
CHESTERFIELD
author who campaigned for the release of the man convicted of killing TV
presenter Jill Dando has written a book about another murderer.
Scott Lomax, aged
25, of Brimington, wrote a book about the death of Miss Dando, questioning
the case against Barry George before he was acquitted in August.
He has now penned another book about the case of Jeremy Bamber – who
was jailed in 1986 after being convicted of murdering five members of his
adopted family.
Mr Lomax says Jeremy Bamber: Evil, Almost Beyond Belief? was
written after he spent five years looking into the case and interviewing the
prisoner.
He said: "It is a detailed re-assessment of this complex criminal case
in light of recent new evidence.
"I have interviewed Jeremy Bamber on several occasions to provide a
thorough account of the White House Farm tragedy and the aftermath, as well
as an account of his life in prison. "I have
had extensive access to photographs and documents from the defence, prosecution
and police to provide a full argument and appraisal of all of the available
evidence."
When Bamber was jailed the sentencing judge dubbed him "evil beyond
belief".
The book, published by The History Press, costs £18.99 from bookshops and
Amazon.co.uk.
