conviction

A campaigning
author is lobbying the criminal justice system to grant an immediate appeal
for convicted mass murderer Jeremy Bamber.
Scott Lomax, author of the book ‘Jeremy Bamber:
Evil, Almost Beyond Belief?’ has written to the Criminal Cases Review
Commission urging for Bamber’s case to be referred to the Court of Appeal.
He says new evidence raises serious questions
about the verdict.
Mr Lomax believes the evidence warrants the
authorities to take the unusual step of releasing Bamber on bail whilst he
awaits an appeal.
Bamber was jailed in 1986 for the murders of his
mother, father, sister and nephews who were shot dead at White House Farm,
Tolleshunt D’Arcy, in August 1985.
