Mr V

Since Barry George’s conviction in July 2001 for the murder of Jill Dando an increasing number of people have began to recognise that the evidence against him was unsatisfactory and much of it has since been undermined to leave little more than one witness who claims she saw George opposite Dando’s home four and a half hours before her murder. Her evidence is riddled with problems and so it is not surprising that many believe Jill Dando’s killer is still on the loose. I have no doubt that he is on the loose, as I said in the Daily Express article.

As Barry George is not the murderer (see my book Who Killed Jill Dando? for a full discussion of the evidence, with my arguments destroying the case against him) then who is the dangerous criminal who shot Dando dead on her doorstep six years ago?

My book discusses a number of other suspects (for example the man who confessed to Dando’s murder in April 2004; a strange man who occasionally sends me abusive e-mails saying that Barry George is an evil murderer whilst also claiming to have been the person who murdered the television presenter) and it is my belief that one of these individuals must have been the man who pulled the trigger of the gun that ended Dando's life. The police interviewed Dando’s killer and eliminated him. They questioned a man named, by the media, as ‘Mr V’.

Like so many individuals in the case, the police eliminated Mr V from the investigation. Although I have received a number of intimidating emails from him I do not believe he murdered Jill Dando, even though his behaviour is highly odd and he seems to know information about the crime which even Barry George's defence team do not know. This could, however, be as a result of police questioning. When the police question a suspect they often inadvertently pass on minor details about the murder which are never made public knowledge. For example, if a witness described a criminal as having oil on their clothing this might never be made public because the police might want to keep some information secret that only they and the killer are aware of, but during questioning they might ask the suspect if they ever carry out any tasks that might get their clothing covered in oil. So, what significance does M95, which Mr V is aware of, have to the Dando murder? What is M95? We recently discovered that M95 is the first part of the registration number of Jill Dando's BMW. Jill was sat in her BMW less than a minute before her violent death. Why does Mr V keep talking about M95 when it is so significant to the murder?

I can now reveal Mr V's real name. This is because he has made it public knowledge by speaking to journalists from the Sunday Mirror. However, I will not include the name just yet. I can also exclusively reveal that I have been assisting the Criminal Cases Review Commission with their investigation of Mr V.

I would like to speak to anyone who was questioned and eliminated to get in touch to tell their experience of the police questioning; what they were asked, what did the police tell them, etc to contact me. This can be done anonymously.
