Appeal For Help in The Case of Kathryn-Mary Herbert

Kathryn-Mary Herbert was a young girl who was abducted and killed in Canada in 1975. Her murder is unsolved, largely because of an unwillingness on the part of the police to carry out their duty to investigate crimes. They have made a series of blunders and in the interests of justice something has to be done. Justice must prevail for Kathryn-Mary and for her family. Dear Friends,


Most of you know about our dear friend Lillie (a.k.a. Shari) and the unsolved homicide of her daughter Kathryn-Mary Herbert (http://www.unsolved-crimes.com/herbert.html). I am asking for your assistance by writing to the Attorney General about the down right disregard for Kathryn-Mary and her family’s treatment since her body was found on November 17, 1975.


Shari and her family have been basically ignored by the Abbotsford Police and they will not pursue the killer(s).


The Abbotsford Police have made so many mistakes in this case that now their focus has been to cover their own butts.


The list of errors is so long so I will name a few major problems with their investigation:


-They have lost all of the original case file, the investigation leads from when she went missing, and many more important documents that would be necessary to convict Kathryn-Mary’s killer(s) if they were ever found out.


- RCMP lost 2 letters written to Kathryn-Mary after her homicide. They hope Shari has "closure" knowing they can't find them. (written in a letter to Shari by RCMP)


-They buried the clothes she was killed in, in the coffin with Kathryn-Mary resulting in losing valuable evidence.


-Refused to allow Shari access to information that would enable her to receive some answers. Including the 2000 pages which now make up the new file compiled mostly by one officer.


-Made promises that have not been kept.


-Refused to work with the private investigator that works on Kathryn-Mary’s case


They show Shari no respect and go so far as to treating her as "crazy" and "obsessed".


-Human rights have been violated


- A public inquiry should be held to hold police accountable for their actions


My plan is not for a petition per say, but instead to compile letters that I am asking you to write and I will mail them to the Attorney General in Canada in a big box together. The idea is that they will open the box and all the letters will be in there, hopefully forcing them to read them and take action.


Please mail your letters to: Unsolved-Crimes International, PO Box 265, Collingswood, NJ 08108. Please put Kathryn-Mary Herbert on the outside of the envelope and please include your address on the envelope.


Please send the letters by December 31, 2004. I will be mailing the package of letters on January 7, 2004. [Note from S. C. Lomax - the deadline for letters has been extended to mid January].
